Just like ourselves, crystals naturally come in all different shapes, sizes and colours, but can also be carved into different symbolic forms. The art of crystal carving is an ancient one that dates back to civilisations like the Mayans, Romans, Chinese and the Egyptians.
Just as each crystal has it's own unique properties, the shape or form of the crystal can also enhance it's inherent properties or even add new ones to the stone, which can enable us to utilise it in more or different ways.
The meaning of the Skull
How you see the carved crystal skull really depends on your own personal beliefs.
Many (including myself) have been brought up to believe skulls represent dark energy, and are foreboding and scary, I have come to know in every essence of my heart, that these beauties represent so much love and deep wisdom.
After a beautiful healing journey in witnessing that once we move through the shadows, and we let the old stories and darkness within us die/go, the most magical, abundant new life emerges.
We all have darkness within us just as we have light, and without one we cannot appreciate the other. Myself, I see the skull as a representation of the cycle of life and death, of transformation and rebirth, a form of protection against negative energies, and of connection to our ancestors, passed loved ones, and our spirit guides, plus beautiful keepers of wisdom.
It is believed that crystal skulls can grant you access to lost and ancient knowledge and wisdom of past civilizations such as the Mayans, Druids or even the Atlanteans and Lemurians. And also connect you with Spiritual Guides and Teachers, Ancestors, Ascended Masters or Goddesses.
How we love to use them!
Transformation: During times of transformation and growth, the skull serves as a reminder to embrace change and transformation in our lives, to not run from it, but accept it whole-heartedly.
Protection: Using skull crystals as a form of protection. The skull has properties that guards against negative energies and promotes a sense of safety and security.
Meditation: Carved crystal skulls can be used during meditation or contemplation practices. Hold the skull in your hands or place it in front of you. Close your eyes and breathe deeply, allowing yourself to enter a relaxed state. Focus your attention and intention on the skull and allow its energy to guide your thoughts and experiences. Through this practice, we can gain all the wisdom and knowledge we seek!
Spiritual Connection: The skull can serve as a tool for spiritual exploration and connection. They can help to deepen your meditation practice or enhance spiritual connection.
Chakra Activation and Healing: Crystal skulls activate the chakras within your head such as the Third Eye and Crown Chakra and can also be used for energy healing. You can place the skull on specific areas of the body that need healing or hold it near the body to facilitate energy flow. Visualise the crystal's energy merging with your own and enjoy the healing benefits.
Dreamwork: Some people find that placing a carved crystal skull under their pillow or near their bed enhances dream recall and promotes vivid or insightful dreams. Before sleep, hold the skull and set the intention to receive guidance or clarity through your dreams.
Each crystal has its own unique properties, so it's always a good idea to research the specific crystal you are working with or check out our Crystal Knowledge section to understand its individual energy and benefits, as well as the unique energy each shape brings.
Remember, the most important thing is to connect with the crystal in a way that feels right for you. Trust your intuition and allow the crystal's energy to guide you on your journey through the shadows.
