Magic Mushrooms

Just like ourselves, crystals naturally come in all different shapes, sizes and colours, but can also be carved into different symbolic forms. The art of crystal carving is an ancient one that dates back to civilisations like the Mayans, Romans, Chinese and the Egyptians.

Just as each crystal has it's own unique properties, the shape or form of the crystal can also enhance it's inherent properties or even add new ones to the stone, which can enable us to utilise it in more or different ways.

The meaning of the Mushroom

Now, the title of this blog may be a little cheeky but it's honest!

Mushrooms truly are magic!

Mushrooms have long since been held in high spiritual regard and been used for symbolic purposes all throughout history. In indigenous cultures, mushrooms were often seen as sacred and were used in religious ceremonies, with some belief systems associating them with spiritual growth and transformation.

Mushrooms are also steeped in folklore, superstition and mythology.
Have you ever noticed a circle of mushrooms growing in your yard? In Irish folklore, that is a fairy ring. The fae are thought to have created these fairy rings which act as enchanted portals, whisking you away to the fairy realm.

For me the mushroom shape is associated with the Earth and the concept of being grounded. Just like a mushroom's roots anchor it to the earth, crystal mushrooms help you to connect with the earth's energy, encouraging stability, balance, and a sense of rootedness. With their ability to grow in dark and hidden places, the mushroom symbolises transformation, renewal, and growth. Just like their real-life counterpart, crystal mushrooms support personal growth, spiritual evolution, and the shedding of old patterns to make way for new beginnings.

How we love to use them!

  1. Protection: In many cultures, mushrooms are considered symbols of protection and warding off negative energies. Crystal mushrooms carry a certain protective energy within them, creating a shield of positivity and light around anyone who works with them.

  2. Connection: Mushrooms are a vital part of the natural world, playing essential roles in ecosystems and symbolising interconnectedness. Crystal mushrooms serve as reminders of our connection to nature, the importance of living in harmony with the earth and its elements, and that sometimes we may rely on our connections with others but that only makes us all stronger.

  3. Decorate Your Space: The whimsical and playful shape of a crystal mushroom adds an element of joy and light-heartedness to your space. Crystal mushrooms can bring a sense of fun, creativity, and childlike wonder to your desk, altar, or any space in your home that needs a boost of pure positive energy!

  4. Gift Giving: Gift crystal mushrooms with loved ones to share the positivity, love, and good fortune.

Each crystal has its own unique properties, so it's always a good idea to research the specific crystal you are working with or check out our Crystal Knowledge section to understand its individual energy and benefits, as well as the unique energy each shape brings.

Remember, the most important thing is to connect with the crystal in a way that feels right for you. Trust your intuition and allow the crystal's energy to guide you on your own unique path.
