The way of the Dragon

Just like ourselves, crystals naturally come in all different shapes, sizes and colours, but can also be carved into different symbolic forms. The art of crystal carving is an ancient one that dates back to civilisations like the Mayans, Romans, Chinese and the Egyptians.

Just as each crystal has it's own unique properties, the shape or form of the crystal can also enhance it's inherent properties or even add new ones to the stone, which can enable us to utilise it in more or different ways.

The meaning of the Dragon

If you look back through time, you'll find the mention of dragons dotted all throughout history in almost every culture around the world. These "mythical" creatures are so embedded in the histories of our cultures, that it makes me wonder just how mythical they truly were?

Dragons represent so many things to so many people. For the Polynesian and Asian cultures, dragons are fierce protectors and bring luck & prosperity. In Hinduism they are viewed as the guardians of truth & justice. Buddhists believe dragons represent strength, knowledge and compassion.

There are so many meanings & beliefs when it comes to dragons!
For us, the crystal dragon head is a mixture of all those beliefs. They are a symbol of power & strength, reminding you of your own innate power. Similar to the skulls, they hold the wisdom and knowledge of past civilisations. They carry an extremely protective energy within them. They bring abundance & prosperity, and they inspire transformation & change within ourselves.

How we love to use them!

  1. As a reminder: Staring in the eyes of the dragon can serve as a reminder of your own inner strength and resilience, filling you with the courage, strength and power of the dragon.

  2. Guidance: As they are the keepers of wisdom & knowledge, you need only ask for their guidance. Take a moment to just sit and be with your dragon head, ask your questions out loud or in your mind and make sure you're listening. The dragon head also symbolises the pursuit of learning and the acquisition of knowledge.

  3. Protection & Guardianship: Dragons are extremely protective creatures, acting as protector and guardian of their kin and hidden hoards. In it's crystal form the dragon head also protects & guards, warding off negative energies and bringing a sense of security. Place one of these little guardians by your front door.

  4. Transformation: The dragon head brings about transformation within you and/or your life. These beauties fill you with the courage you need to embrace the change head-on and navigate through the challenges that may arise in the beginning, with your head held high!

Each crystal has its own unique properties, so it's always a good idea to research the specific crystal you are working with or check out our Crystal Knowledge section to understand its individual energy and benefits, as well as the unique energy each shape brings.

Remember, the most important thing is to connect with the crystal in a way that feels right for you. Trust your intuition and allow the crystal's energy to guide you on your own unique path.
